What is Five Nights at Freddy's 2?

Initially released on November 11, 2014, on Steam, Five Nights at Freddy's 2, or FNAF 2, is the sequel to the popular horror game Five Nights at Freddy's, created by Scott Cawthon. As a newly hired night-shift security guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, players have to monitor the camera system inside the restaurant to fend off malfunctioning animatronic characters. The objective is to prevent them from attacking you and survive from 12 AM to 6 AM over five nights. The game ends when you get caught by any animatronics.

Great news for fans of the FNAF game series, especially those who love FNAF 2: the movie of the same name is scheduled for release in December 2025. As a sequel to the hit 2023 film, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 continues the terrifying story inspired by Scott Cawthon’s iconic horror game series.

What is New in FNAF 2?

Unlike its prequel, FNAF 2 does not include protective doors, which may increase the challenges and tension. Luckily, your character is provided with an empty Freddy Fazbear head that is so handy for deceiving animatronics into thinking you're one of them.

Additionally, this sequel also includes other new features, including:

  • New animatronics, such as Toy Freddy, Toy Bonnie, Toy Chica, Mangle, and Balloon Boy, each with different behaviors, mechanics, and spawn locations.
  • A limited flashlight to check the main dark hallway and certain cameras.
  • The Music Box that must be kept wound to prevent the Puppet from attacking.

How to Play FNAF 2

Like in the original version, the scary, malfunctioning animatronics try to get into the office and attack you at night. The goal is to defend yourself from them and survive for five consecutive nights, from 12:00 AM to 6:00 PM. They can approach your office from three entrances: the main corridor and 02 vents; all can’t be closed. To stay alive, careful monitoring is a must; be alert and on the lookout for dangers.

Checking the camera

The system of 11 security cameras in Five Nights at Freddy's 2 unblocked allows you to monitor animatronic positions. You'll know when they’re near your office and can prepare to defend against their attacks. Pay close attention to Cam 11 to keep the music box wound; otherwise, The Puppet will attack you, and there’s no way to stop it.

Closely monitor the hallway & vents

You can flash your light down the hallway to ward off Foxy; don't forget to watch the vents on both sides, as any animatronic can enter the office through them. Listen for audio cues, like movements or vent noises, to identify the animatronics’ position. When they get close, prepare to put on the mask.

Use the Freddy Fazbear mask

Be quick with your Freddy Fazbear mask when an animatronic appears near or in front of you, tricking them into leaving. If you're too slow, they will jumpscare you, ending the game instantly.

Use the flashlight sparingly

In addition to the dark hallway, you can use the flashlight with certain cameras. However, its battery is limited, so flash the light wisely; conserve battery power to avoid running out too soon.

Survive until 6 AM

That’s the ultimate goal. For sure, it’s never an easy task to survive all 5 scary nights. Be prepared as each night gets progressively harder, with more aggressive animatronics.

Game controls

  • Hover over the bottom right arrows to reveal the camera system.
